ffmwb
i cut out my guitar body a few days ago with a jigsaw, and used a rasp to get closer to the line, but im finding it hard to get the sides go straight down from the front/back. i was thinking about using a router to slowly take it of and straightening it, is this a good idea, or are there a risks of tear outs? any help or advice would be appreciated or anyone elses methods. cheers
MzI
run a router with a pattern bit along a template, make sure you run the router in the correction direction or ull get tear out, also its always good to practice on a scrap piece before you go to the actual guitar MzI
Dr. Jabsco
If you are afraid of tearout you can also use drum sanders in your drill press to sand it down, and that keeps a nice 90* angle. But if your careful there shouldnt be any tearout with the router.
