baze7 Posted September 2, 2004 Report Posted September 2, 2004 Anyone have a good picture of the process of making a bolt on neck. In particular where the neck meets the body. Thanks Quote
Lex Luthier Posted September 3, 2004 Report Posted September 3, 2004 Enitre bolt-on neck instruments are built HERE and HERE. They may have what you are looking for. Quote
baze7 Posted September 3, 2004 Author Report Posted September 3, 2004 Do you use bolts or screws? Quote
johnsilver Posted September 3, 2004 Report Posted September 3, 2004 You can use either. Some makers use threaded inserts placed into the neck heel and then attach using matching bolts. Others use screws that extend through the body into the neck heel. IMO, either is capable of providing a solid neck/body join if carefully done. Either method must ensure proper alignment of the join. Quote
