Three_Views
I've got an RG550 neck (as well as a few others lying around) that are burdened with a varnish/lacquer clear coat. I would like to liberate these woods to give them the feel of a an early Jem (7PBK, 77FP). How should I approach it: -Chemical stripper? -Sanding? -Other? Thanks, Brent
Jehle
I've never completely removed the finish from a neck, but I have sanded it to a satin finish with some fine sand paper and then finished off with 000 steel wool. That got rid of that candy coating.
