helge
Hi, will the neck be stron enough for an angled headstock, if i do the blank like this???
asm
definately. theres only 2 ways to do it, from a solid blank or like what your doing/scarf joint. now if you were making it for a baritone or a bass, it might be iffy but that should work just fine. frank falbo
Old Ibanez Prolines are like that, as well as many acoustics. I would plan on a headstock veneer. Ibanez does that, as do many acoustic makers. Trying to get a flat, uniform finish on the headstock with that split there will prove difficult. You'd be finishing into endgrain. Even if you get it buffed out nicely, over time you'll probably see a "tell line". But it also gives you the opportunity to go with a fancy wood or match the wood type to the top of the body. Scott Rosenberger
I believe some Older GIbsons were done like that as well
