fehgalloway Posted September 16, 2004 Report Posted September 16, 2004 Hello, I was just wondering if anyone has/has heard of/knows anything about The Guitar Builders FAQ??? I'm just wondering if it's worth getting?!?!?! Does anyone know of any other good books/resources/info that isn't on the usual track (IE all the books from Stew-mac/Amazon) for example, the book by Jim Donahue that you can only get through his website... Just curious Thanks all Quote
SawDust_Junkie Posted September 17, 2004 Report Posted September 17, 2004 (edited) Here's a link to a site where you can download the document in .pdf format. I already have it printed out myself. It's a pretty good resource and has answered a few of my questions. http://members.aol.com/wyzagtr/faq/gtrfaq25.pdf I also bought this book from A1 Books on-line, (www.a1books.com) Electric Guitar Construction by Tom Hirst This is the best price I found for it on-line. Stewart-Mac and everywere else I found it wanted like $40.00. A1 books has it for around $28.00 including shipping. I really like this book and between these two I am in the process of my first build it from scratch project. If the link for the Guitar Builders FAQ doesn't work for you, let me know and I could possibly e-mal you the .pdf document. Hope this helps ! Edited September 17, 2004 by Fender4me Quote
mdw3332 Posted September 17, 2004 Report Posted September 17, 2004 I downloaded the earlier version - 2.5. It is OK, nut pretty general. I don't think I would pay $15 for what I have. Mine is only 50 pages, and I think the new version says it is 74, so maybe they have added some content. Quote
javacody Posted September 18, 2004 Report Posted September 18, 2004 I don't think I'd pay for it either. From what I can tell, you can find all of the info in it and a lot more by searching this forum. Quote
