Kurt76
Hi to all I think in the summer put an Indian Rosewood top in a guitar to make some like this: I think in Tung Oil or no finish in the Rosewood top, but maybe a Satin Polyurethane (thin coats) without filler. What do you think? Every opinions and experience are welcome... See you My Friends PD: I will use to Drop Top a wood sell in "Madinter Trade" in Spain. Is an Third Classical Indian Rosewood Set (Back and Side to Acustic guitar) 800x110x3mm and 550x200x4mm. The Side can be use in a Laminated neck i think. The Price is 20 Euros. This is the LINK I hope is a good info
Devon Headen
I'm thinking of doing the same thing pretty soon . I'll probably either go high gloss, or no finish at all. Probably just sand to a high # paper. Maybe#2000. Devon Edit: That's an awesome deal on that back/sides set, too. I wish I could find one like that in the US. bigdguitars
go with an oil tung or teak, I like teak oil penetrates more, if its an electric then don't have to worry about it moving due to heat and stress
Lex Luthier
I've tung oiled EIR before. It would give the guitar a nice natural look and feel.
