I really like how this guitar looks like but the pickups are crap to me...

so im thinking of putting in these gibson pickups in brigde and neck position

I have an rg with powersound pickups and I love the sound

so i think an rg would sound soo amazing with this mod

has anyone ever tried something like this?

what do you think?

thanks a bunch guys!

I have one of the 350DX's (bedroom wankin stick) and really don't think the stock Ibanez PSND pickups are all that bad. Not saying they're good, but I've had worse for stock by a long shot.

Only concerns I would have:

1. Will they fit depth wise, if you can route the body you're fine.

2. These guitars are basswood bodys and I'm not sure if they'll sound as good...but who knows unless ya try.

3. String spacing on the poles may be off a bit because the wizard II necks are so narrow...maybe not enough to worry about.

Otherwise I'd get full specs on them first. Could turn out pretty cool sounding. :D

Good luck...

... the wizard II necks are so narrow...

You mean thin, right? The Wizard necks are the same width as a standard modern Fender neck.

Nope, my perception is the string spacing is more narrow but then again it could simply be the radius difference is what I’m feeling and/or I’m just that sensitive to feel. I've only had mine for a couple of months and it's my first Ibanez. :D

In anycase I wouldn't think the pole spacing will be of enough to worry about.
