Zenabi
Hi, First of all, I'm new here. Just wanted to say hi to everyone. What buffing compounds are you guys using? I've been trying to do a repair job (a little scratch) on my Jackson. I used 1000 grit, then 1500, then 2000 grit to remove the scratch. I then used Meguiar's Scratch X to try buff it out. However, I can still see the minute scratches left from sanding (when looking at a certain angle). I'm wondering what I can do to make the guitar have that New GLOSS look again. Thanks. Joe. AlGeeEater
You can try using 3M Fine cut buffing compound and then 3M Finesse it II machine polish. BTW, welcome! Edited October 12, 2004 by AlGeeEater
Zenabi
Cool. Can you hand buff with these? Or is it that you must buy a buffing machine to use these compounds? I'm also wondering how you wet sand the polish. I've been wet sanding in little circles. I've heard that some people sand perpindicular to each grit. What is the best way to wet sand? Thanks. Joe. Librero
yes you can hand buff with polishing compounds. i don't wet sand in circles. when finishing, i sand along the grain of the wood/body. most people here do.
AlGeeEater
i just sand across the body no matter what...

AlGeeEater
Like you said, you used Scratch-X right? When your done applying that i would recommend using Deep Crystal System Paint cleaner.
