Ibanezgtrplr777
When I plugged my Ibanez Gio into my Line 6 recently I kept getting this shock from the strings when I layed my arm across them. I want to know what is causing this my amp or a bad ground. I really have no clue just know it bugs me. Let me know what is could be and how I could fix it. AlGeeEater
It could be your strings arent grounded and/or your amp isnt grounded correctly. This means checking the solder joints on you trem, your main solder points and see if the third prong on your power cord for your amp is lose or missing. lovekraft
Here we go again! If you're getting shocked, there's something wrong with either your amp or the mains power supply, not your guitar! Check the outlet first to make sure it's wired correctly and has a good ground connection (use an outlet tester, or have somebody who knows something about electricity check it for you). If that's not the problem, have a qualified tech repair your amp or replace the power cord, if that's all that's wrong with it. I recommend immediate action - electrocution sucks! And, please, everybody, one more time - If your equipment and power supply are functioning properly, there is absolutely no way to miswire a guitar that will give you a shock!!
