vladdrac Posted October 23, 2004 Report Posted October 23, 2004 Hi Everyone, I just recieved the pickup that i bought from a guy in the JemSite forum..he said it was a Dimarzio Paf pro from his PGM ibanez guitar.. The pup looks like a Paf pro, but instead of "Dp151" stamp in the botton it has a "V1"..is this the same paf pro? cheers Quote
ansil Posted October 29, 2004 Report Posted October 29, 2004 i have heard that the ibanez pickups the v series were modeled after different models of pickups. personally i have v1 and v2 and v7 and v8 and they are all great picups that are killer in clarity and sustain. so it could very well be there version of a paf pro. personally i like carvins. Jester700 Posted October 29, 2004 Report Posted October 29, 2004 I don't think he means a white V1 on the top of the pup. Those are NOT DiMarzios, though IMO they're pretty good stock imports. He means a stamp underneath. Quote
LukeR Posted October 29, 2004 Report Posted October 29, 2004 I'd email dimarzio if I were worried. They are good with their customer service. Luke Quote
vladdrac Posted October 29, 2004 Author Report Posted October 29, 2004 Thanks for the responds... i can´t believe that nobody knows about this.. Jester is Right..i don´t mean White V1 in the top of the pup.. The pup is, acording to the Seller, from a PGM301 ..and in the Ibanez webpage that model comes with Paf pro pickups.. The pup is exactly like a paf pro (i have another)..and it says Dimarzio stamped in the top (aparently, only OEM Dimarzio have these stamps) ..but is not like the Dimarzio stamps in the Evolutions of the Jems..this logo is bigger (and looks better than the evolutions logo)..underneath it says ..if i remember right,i don´t have the pup in my hand right now: F Dimarzio Made in USA V1 which it looks all normal..but in the other dimarzios i have, in the place of the V1, it supposed to be DP151 (for a paf pro in this case). I know the case in which a "H8" is the OEM paf pro for some fender models.. maybe i should right to Dimarzio..but i was hoping that someone here know about this and everybody else would learn this too. cheers Quote
