Cracked
Does anyone sell them? Or is it one of those things where you can't fret a fingerboard untill it's on the neck blank? Thanks in advance!
moztech
Here’s my 2-cents worth, NOTE I have not yet built a guitar (Got wood, Got Hardware, Finalizing my design). The way I see it, there are a lot of variables when it comes to necks and fretboards, a preslotted board if fine as it can still be cut to the required width, with or without binding and or radiused, but as soon as the frets are on you are very limited, I would hate to try cut it. And I can’t see suppliers supplying hundreds of different size fretboards. But I am just a newbie so I might be wrong.
Cracked
No way man, that makes total sense, I never thought about that. I'm a newb too, hence the question Edited November 16, 2004 by Cracked
GuitarMaestro
Nobody I know of sells fingerboards that are already fretted. You can only buy pre-slotted fingerboards and I recommend that very much. There is really no advantage in slotting them yourself.
CudBucket
My current project is also my first and for me the greatest challenge is the neck. If I didn't build it myself, I wouldn't feel as good about the project. I'd have to know that I could build it myself before I'd feel comfortable buying one.
