eclipse666 Posted November 27, 2004 Report Posted November 27, 2004 My guitar can't be properly intonated because the locking nut is pretty crappy. I have the ever so popular "licensed" flyod rose bridge and of corse it came with a crappy ass nut. So what are some good replacement locking nuts and how easy/hard is it to install a new one? Quote
goth_fiend Posted November 27, 2004 Report Posted November 27, 2004 first, stewmac carry replacement lock-nuts, also i dont think your problem would lie in the nut, is your neck straight? are the frets in good condition? if your using a floyd (which is more then likely what you have) is it set up right? the nut is not usually the problem with floyd equiped guitars at least in my experience, and as for replacing it, unscrew the old one, and put the new one on, but make sure you get the right neck width. westhemann Posted November 27, 2004 Report Posted November 27, 2004 it's not the locking nut.can't be.are you sure you know what the nut is? the nut is the part right where the neck meets the headstock that the strings run through.are you sure you aren't talking about the saddles or the pivot screws? and are you sure you mean intonation? locking nuts don't just go off causing intonation problems.
