eddiefletcher
Hi all I've been trying to find Borax in Australia for an upcoming swirl job I want to do. I've tried everywhere, Bunnings, walmart, Mitre 10 and even some commercial paint suppliers with no luck?! Does anyone know where you can buy it in Australia??? Any help would really be appreciated! Cheers guys!

eddiefletcher
Thanks for that Brian, So what exactly is borax? Everytime I ask the attendants in these places they just look at me blankly
GREGMW
Try Diggers Pty Ltd (diggersaust.com.au) I think. They do all kinds of cleaning stuff. They will have it. Greg Edited December 7, 2004 by GREGMW
westhemann
isn't borax a water softener?
skibum5545
Yeah, Something like that. I think it actually strengthens the power of the detergent. The traditional brand in the US is 20 Mule Team Borax, FWIW.
Devon Headen
Walmart carries it (at least in the US). I use it as flux for forge welding sometimes, and mom uses it for laundry.
eddiefletcher
Thats great thanks guys! I actually have a friend who uses it for flux welding also but we were unsure if we could use the same stuff for reducing the density of water! Anyway I'll give it a go and thanks for your advice!! westhemann
I think it actually strengthens the power of the detergent. not exactly...it increases the cleaning power of the water itself.
