Parma Paints

I used to use this back in the early 90's when they came in solid colors only, with the Pactra spray paints to paint my RC cars.

I recently entered a Hobby shop and they haved this beautiful palette of colors in Parma waterbased paints, not to mention all the pearls and metalics to mix into. And best of all, I can shot it with the little airbrush that I got. The guy said that he has no experience with it used with laquer, but he mentioned that it dries fast.

My question is,

Can I use this for base coat, grafix work, then once it dries use poly (can -oil or waterbased) over it?

Jeremy, Brian, or anybody else have used this type of paint before, not much info on the search, just 3 hits for parma and about 2 pages for pactra with not much detail.

thanks in advanse guys.

I went with the createx water based. I love the color but I found out that it's a pain in the neck to shot with cheat airbrushes. I guess that I will do with this and then when I get to do the 7 string I will have the badger by then. The color are super nice for the price, and I'm using denaturated alcohol to thin them since no one close have the reducer (extender) ion this area, maybe by the time I get the badger I will order the reducer too, I try water like the website says, but at 20% water the cheap abrush still spits out a bit. And I tried more and it shoots nice at about 50 50 but that compromises the adehesion of the paint.

I was thinking about an airbrush and that way I could get a small compressor (I live in an apartment). So, doing a whole body, do you find that the airbrush is adequate or would you need a spray gun if you're going to use Createx??? Also, have you found the metal flake in Canada????

I'm on the USA, but yoiu can ask LGM he is in Canada and will possibly know better. It's OK for small work, like painting a top or small detail, you will still need to clear coat it. I still do it outside and with protection, vapors are still a problem, denaturated alcohol is nasty stuff, and the CO2 that I use as propellant is also bad. S otake the nescesary precautions.

There are a few places online that I found them, and I just found a place here but it's about 45 min away. Also the guy from the hobby shop here told me that he can special order some if I want to but he said that he has to wait until the mess fom Xmas goes down. thanks for the tip anyway, I got you if I can't get it here.
