Biohazard
Check out the WD Music Products UK page, they will have wire for you. Also check out www.axesrus.com because they will probably have what you need to. Or check random custom guitar builders because they will probably sell you some wire too. Heck, even guitar shops that do repairs will have wire they can sell you. But dont forget, wire is wire and as long as you get the right kind, electronics stores like RS and Maplin will sell wire too, along with all components you would need. westhemann
stewmac has all the wire you might need...or you could do like me,go to the hardware store, and pick out some 18 to 20 guage single strand copper wire and use that. i have started using that becausei can bend it to follw any path i choose and it stays where i put it

lovekraft
Unless you're worried about vintage appearance, any solid or stranded copper wire between 18 and 24 AWG (1mm to approx .5mm) will work fine - like Wes said, check your local DIY stores and hardware outlets. I've used products labelled "trailer wire" (18ga), "doorbell wire" (18-20ga), and "low-voltage control wire" (22ga) - all were stranded PVC insulated copper wire (and likely made at the same Asian factory), and they all yielded excellent results. StratDudeDan
depending on your choice, which wes brought up, you'll have to go with either stranded or solid wire. there's not a TON of difference between the two when it comes to carrying current (at least in the guitar world with the short lengths we use). the biggest thing is flexibility. solid is just what it sounds, a single, solid wire with a insulative coat on it. when you bend it, it stays put. stranded wire, on the other hand, is lots of little wire all wound together until they're as big as a solid wire. they're flexibile in the way that if you bend them, they won't stay. IMHO, i prefer solid. it's easier for me to solder, and as wes said, i like the fact that i can bend it and it'll stay just how i wanted it to. there are the exact same arguments made for stranded, and when it comes down to it, it's just preference.
