PLUCKyou Posted January 31, 2005 Report Share Posted January 31, 2005 I was wondering if it would be safe to mill down the part on a fender tremolo where the springs are attatched to, so that it will fit in my guitar that i am building...the guitar that i'm building is going to be thin so the thing would be sticking out the back...and i can't imagine that being to great...i was just wondering if this would effect the way it worked... thanks Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

PLUCKyou Posted January 31, 2005 Author Report Share Posted January 31, 2005 well the guitar i'm building is going to be about 1 5/16" thick so it's not terribly thin but it will be too thin for a fender tremolo...so there wouldn't be that much taken off of it...yeah i figured i would have to redrill the holes but it shouldn't be too hard...as long as this doesn't effect the way it works Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
crafty Posted January 31, 2005 Report Share Posted January 31, 2005 You're going to lose a bit of fulcrum power when you mill down the block a 1/2 inch, so you'll probably wind up using one or two springs instead of three or four.
