DracWell
Hey, I'm still planning my 7 string. Getting wood for the body in some months. What I'm wondering is if 18" rods will be enough for a 21.011" long neck (from nut to fretboard end)...
jay5
I think 18" would be ok. Someone else with a little more experience might want to cime in though. I dont know if you have purchased the rods yet, but check this place out; Into The Wind, they have a .24" X 32" rod for $3.90. David Myka uses these. You can rout a 1/4" groove and you're good to go. I ordered a few of these for my project as well as a whitside 1/4" roundnose bit. I think it is gonna work out well, plus its a lot cheaper than the stewmac graphite.
