telerider Posted February 5, 2005 Report Posted February 5, 2005 Can someone tell me what to do here? Ok, I want to make some tele, strat.humbucker,p bass and j bass pickups, maybe even a P90. I have a few of these old guitar copies around my place. I live in Australia and was wondering if all american guitars use UNC sizes in all pickup screws. As UNC sizes are not sizes you can get at the local hardware store here like Bunnings. Theyre classed as engineering fasteners and local fastener companies wont order any in for you unless you order big quanities .I want to make my own bobbins and covers and want to keep hole sizes etc the same as the original american pickups. Hope I've explained my question clear enough here. Same goes with tele bridge baseplate, I think thats tapped for #6-32 thread (UNC size again). Are there any metric/imperial sizes that can be substituted or would they have to be UNC. Can anyone clear this up for me? Quote
