Would This Work?

Recommended Posts

I have a plan to get a picture on my next project, But dont know if it will work out.

THE PLAN

1. strip the guitar and paint it black.

2. print off picture to good quility paper and use spray glue to stick the picture to the guitar.

3. Lightly fade the edges of the picture with paint.

4. lacquer over the guitar to finish.

Has anyone tried this before?

Would the paper bubble?

Will the laquer take to the paper?

Hey Brian, Thanks for the tip  :D

thomasteven, I did do a search but it didnt come up with much and the one post i found usefull didn`t  have a replie to whether it actually worked or not. I did read the tutorial on a fabric finish, but i will search before i ask anything.

Don't feel too bad... that's a pretty tough one to try to dig up without having more to go on :D. Somewhere in the forum someone did it with beer labels and someone else did it with comic book pages - that may help you find the threads (I'm not sure where they are any more).

I've seen multiple posts about this over the last few weeks.

I didn't know that they weren't answered "well". If they were't you could always bump it and see if you'll get a decent reply again. Sorry for being quick to react. Friends? :D

From the threads i did read i think it should work. As i will get a photoprint shop to print the picture onto paper for me, So it should be good paper and good ink thats used.

Also i will be keeping track of my progress and logging it on a website for future reference B)
