bcjim Posted March 11, 2005 Report Posted March 11, 2005 Anyone know where you can buy fretboards? Rosewood or Ebony and do they usually come fretted? Quote
stiggz Posted March 11, 2005 Report Posted March 11, 2005 well, wat ur askin bcjim is can u buy pre-fretted fretboards, the answer to that is no, th reason for that is when a fret is hammered in, the barbs compress the wood creating a back-bow. but as for pre slotted, they are plentiful and abundant, stew mac, LMII, warmoth to name a few all sell pre slotted boards. in the past i went down to my an exotic lumber yard and paid $1.50 for 2 metres of rosewood, i took it to a local luthier and paid him $5 to slot it. all for around $5 hope it helped luke Quote
bcjim Posted March 11, 2005 Author Report Posted March 11, 2005 Another question I have is, how can I replace a truss rod in a one piece maple neck? -Thanks Quote
Billy Bones Posted March 12, 2005 Report Posted March 12, 2005 I saw on I think it was "Luthiers International" or "International Luthiers" page, some real good prices on fingerboard blanks, slotted and not. Quote
