Devon Headen
I've never tried putting a bridge pickup in the neck and I have two bridge pickups I want to use in the same guitar (SD '59 and Pearly Gates). What are the downsides to doing this? I know I'll have to turn the neck position pickup around to get the screw polepieces towards the neck. With this have a negative effect on tone? bowser
You ought to be able to do it without much problem at all, and I think that you will just need to adjust the height of the neck pickup to make the volumes of both pickups similar. If I remember correctly, a neck pickup is less sensitive to vibrations is all, because the string will move farther back and forth near the neck pickup than it will by the bridge... Devon Headen
That's good to hear. I guess I'll just try it and see. Does anyone disagree with bowser?
Daniel Sorbera
I read this exact topic on another forum and everyone who tried it said it sounded wonderful. You just have to lower the neck and bring up the bridge quite a bit to make the balance the same.
