sepultura999
Hey all. I might be picking up a nice project guitar where everything comes with except the floyd nut and the floyd rose bridge. I am thinking of turning it into an electric solid body nylon (been wanting to since september!). If I do this of course i'd fill in the pickups, and part of the floyd bridge. However theres the problem of the floyd nut. I was wondering can the nut be used without the bridge? I think it can but I want to make sure . If it can, would it work fine with nylon strings? Thanks. -Jamie
krazyderek
it can be used without a floyd, especially with bridge's like schaller's fine tuning tune-o-matic, but it just adds another level of complexity you don't need if you're not using a trem. I'm pretty sure floyd nuts were never designed with nylon strings in mind, they're just to soft. I'd suggest a good slippery nut and a nice set of tuners.
