22fretmaple
Hey Guys Im new to this forum but yeah. Anyway i was wondering haven't actually thought of doing a Holoflash finish or really start building a guitar at yet. But i was wondering do you think the Holoflash Material on the back of Cd's could work if you used it? For example if you look at the back of a CD and also crack it open you'll find it's got a similar material. Any ideas?
Executioner606
try www.universaljems.com Holoflash Edited March 30, 2005 by Executioner606
sepultura999
i dunno if it could work but it could be a real pain in the butt. It's easier to just get it from Brian at universaljems, or if you're really strapped for cash, look in Dollar Stores or Arts and Craft stores. -Jamie

Kammo1
Hi is this how Kramer and all the companies used to do the Holoflash finishes or was it actual paint just curious? Kammo1
LGM Guitars
I promised I wouldn't tell the real method of holo flash, but it's not paint, and it's not done the way the tutorial shows it, but the tutorial is a good method. Just won't work well on very contoured guitars. There is no holoflash paint though.
Maiden69
Can the holoflash paper be shaped with heat gun, just like I do for the window tinit paper? That will be nice for a carved top. I will like to try it but I don't like the holoflash finish, it's too hippie for my taste.
LGM Guitars
Maiden, Probably not, the holographic film that Brian used in that tutorial I believe is pretty thick, the vinyl holographic film I've seen is very thick, more than 3 mil, I really don't know how well it would go over curves even with heat, not very well I'm thinking. Maiden69
THanks Jeremy, I think about trying it one day, but the only reason I haven't is because I don't like it. I might try one day, and post the results here!
