Sparky Posted April 4, 2005 Report Share Posted April 4, 2005 (edited) Well, wood filler is probably way too soft for this application. I really doubt it would last. You have the right idea though. A nice epoxy could work well. If it were me, I woulb probably use an epoxy or polyester resin (look for fiberglass supplys or boat building stores) and then add a pigment dye. It should cure very hard and should be fairly easy to sand down. There's always mother of pearl and abolone inlay materials. Though that would be a bit more expensive and quite a bit more work.
