Horton
What is the best way to do a blackburst finish? For example similar to Gibson Joe Perry Signature model. I have alder Tele body which I like to finish blackburst. I'd like to have it lighter, grayish seethrough in the middle and darker, almost opaque black on the edges. Change from light to dark should be smooth.. Should I mix black stain in the laquer and do it with airbrush or stain straigth to the wood with wiping method? Should I use e.g. gray stain in the middle or is it possible to do all with black stain? Thanks.
