Badlands13
Hi to everyone I'm new here and need some help with my new guitar project. My guitar has an humbucker, two single coils, one master volume and a 5 way switch, no split. When I plugged it yesterday, all pickups were working but the sound was weak and when I touched the selector I got the normal output. I supposed it was a ground problem so I checked and redid some soldering. When doing so I noticed there was a naked wire on the humbucker, a JB that I had left unsoldered and taped. I have an other JB but there was no naked wire only red, white, green and black. So I soldered that wire to the ground. When I plugged my guitar today it was even worse, I only got a buzz. If anyone has an idea that'll be greatly appreciated, thanx.

It doesn't sound like you were dealing with a ground problem.. more like a short. Now that you get no sound at all it definitely sounds like a short to me. I've just checked everything, resoldered everything and now the volume pot and switch have no effect, I get only one sound with a lot of buzz... lovekraft
Can you give us a little bit more info? What kind of switch, what pickups, what leads hook up to what (colors and brands are very helpful here)? I'm thinking bad switch or solder bridge, but that's a wild guess without a btter idea of what you've got workin'. Do you have access to a multimeter? Badlands13
Hey, sorry for the delay. I finally checked everything and realized the output jack wasn't hooked up correctly . Now everything work perfectly. Thanx for your time.
