Gorecki
Here's one place for DIY boxes http://www.diystompboxes.com Most electronics supplies will have pretty much every thing you'll need including little boxes that are intended to be used for exactly this sort of thing. lovekraft
JD (Sleep, GGG's owner) does a very nice board, and his layouts are verified and fairly easy to implement. It's a great option if you're not comfortable with perf builds or making your own pcboards. For parts, try Small Bear, Mouser and Digi-Key. The diecast aluminum MXR-style boxes are made by Hammond (1590 series), although there are some Asian "clones" that can be had for less, or you can bend your own from sheet metal if you're sufficiently clever and industrious. Most components aren't hard to find, but don't expect your local Radio Shack to have everything you need in stock - for instance, DPDT and 3PDT footswitches will probably have to be ordered elsewhere. And it pays to shop around - I've seen "specialty" guitar suppliers selling $.03 1/4 watt resistors for as much as $1.00 each.
