Matt Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 Im looking for some cool decals to make/copy to put on my next guitar (all black Jem), I love the Ouja board scheme that Kirk Hammet has one one of his, but i want something different (i dont want to copy another persons axes). So if anyone has any cool ideas they would be greatly appreciated and i thought that this could turn out to be a usefull thread for everyone. Anyway thanks Matt Quote
dragonjackson Posted April 18, 2005 Report Posted April 18, 2005 there was a link somewher for a guy in uk. he did some crazy stuff with decals. like the racing stripes etc. but i cant find him any more :-( Quote
Sambo Posted April 18, 2005 Report Posted April 18, 2005 http://www.gsrguitars.co.uk/decalkits.htm There you go. Quote
JimRayden Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 Hmm, the page says the decals are vinyl. I've heard that the vinyl slowly eats away on the finish of the guitar if you place the guitar on a vinyl-covered amp or something similiar for a looong time. But it might be my bad memory, maybe it was something else. ---------- Jimbo Quote
Maiden69 Posted April 20, 2005 Report Posted April 20, 2005 that site is nice, but those prices are tooo high, especialy in pounds, Brian sells the bullseye for half what that guy is asking. I don't like decals, I don't think that the glue will eat a factory paint, but I rather get one roll of transfer tape, and get the design cut into it, then just use it as a template, and paint, once it's done peel and clear. dragonjackson Posted April 20, 2005 Report Posted April 20, 2005 ok, thats true, for decals like the bullseye. well, maybe i will do racing stripes with my paula copy - but first i will to check if i like it. who is brian? where can i order from him? does he ship to germany? Quote
JimRayden Posted April 20, 2005 Report Posted April 20, 2005 I think Maiden69 was referring to our master, Brian Calvert. http://www.universaljems.com/ ------------- Jimbo Quote
