xbonez182
Hey, I'm working on an encore strat bodied project guitar. So far it's been painted and I'm looknig at parts to continue. One problem I have is that it was 3 single coil pickups and I want a humbucker in the bridge. It looks like there's space for one there, anyone know without seeing it whether I can do it? Or would you have to see a pic. I can send pics if need be. Bobby MSN> xbonez@blueyonder.co.uk
MzI
you can put a single coil size humbucker in there duncan makes em, they cost about the same as a regular humbucker MzI
crafty
Just take the guitar to the music store with you when you pick out the humbucker to make sure it fits. Sometimes the mounting screws are too long, but you can cut those down. Either get a new pickguard or cut and drill the old one to mount the new pickup. If a humbucker won't fit, try the Seymour Duncan Hot Rails or JB Jr. They have enough balls to compete with most regular humbuckers out there. There is absolutely no difference to a JB humbucker. Got no clue how they managed to do that, but they are incredibly similar to the humbucker version
xbonez182
Thanks people. I'm getting a custom pickguard to fit anyway, just wasn't sure whether a bucker would fit... Thanks for the advice. I'l post pics as I progress anyway. Only got the bod painted so there's probably not much point yet.
