High E String Looses Grip And Snap On A Trem.....

in the middle of pulling up on an Edge trem, the high E string just snaps. but the string itself isn't broken, it just came out of the string holding block on the trem. it's like, there's not enough grip between the saddle and the block, that it just snaps. why is this happening? i tighting the block really well and everything, but it keeps on getting loose. is it time for a new block?

you have an old piece of string in between the clamps.open it up all of the way and pull out the little piece.
