A dealer that will sell spalted stock will almost always sell Ambrosia too, and you will see Spalted Ambrosia also. Ambrosia is just that dark red color basically, as opposed to the lighter colored regular Maple. ← Cool, thanks for the clarification, I'se still an Ignit McNugget when it comes to wood. Why don't you make a neck-thru guitar! it would look very nice, and itll give you a few more inches to the sides to make a nice looking design. Drak Posted May 23, 2005 Author Report Share Posted May 23, 2005 Just received the Walnut in today. Christ what a heavy sucker! It does need time to dry further. Interesting thing tho...it varies from quartersawn to riftsawn, which would make some cool Walnut necks! AND it's long enough and thick enough too. I can get a body AND a neck (maybe 2)out of this thing and have an all natural Walnut guitar all made from the very same piece of wood.
