wylde22
Ok so ive been lurking around here for about a year and a half and decided to register about a month ago, but anyway Ive made two guitars now the first one sucked and the second one was a travel guitar which i really love. So now I want to build a les paul. So I bought some plans from stew mac and i have a question about the neck length and before I get flamed about searching I just want to say I have searched. So on these plans the neck is only 18 in and I just wanted to know if this is correct so please answer.
GregP
I can't imagine StewMac selling incorrect plans. Anything's possible, but they've been in business long enough that at least one person would have written to them by now if there was an error, and they would have pulled the plans and revised them. Setch
18" sounds wrong - which exact dimension are you refering to? My LP is approx 21.5" from the end of the headstock to the 16th fret where the neck joins the body.
ooten2
The neck is 18"?? You sure that's not just the fretboard? My LP DC has the same scale length, but with 24 frets instead of 22. The fretboard on it is 18 3/4". Makes me think 18" might be about right for a 22 fret fretboard. But that's just a guess.
