The Danimal
So, i'm building a guitar that is a combinatino of a mocking bird with a flying v. I am looking for blue prints of both of them anbd i couldn't seem to find any on the net. I know guitar build has the flying V so i'm gonna check that out and see if i need to convert it or not but i can't seem to find one for a mockingbird. Do ya'll know where i could find one and/or if there are other ways of obtaining something like this (other guitar parts manufacturers)? I asked warmoth but they said they have it programed into a computer, any other suggestions folks? Also, i found on this website that in the advanced section of the forum there are blueprints for guitars yet i can't seem to find that section anywhere... am i blind? Thanks so much. And sorry for posting a second topic on a similar subject Danny

jer7440
You have to make a donation to PG the get access the the advanced section. Would Warmoth give you there computer drawing if you had a way to read it? If so get yourself and inexpensive CAD program and go for it. The Danimal
hey guys, thanks for the help, i ended up going to samash and guitar center and the guys that worked there were more than happy to let me trace the guitars on posterboard, as long as i didn't get pen on anything. :-) now it is time to combine the two designs and when i begin building i'll post it up on here :-) Danny
mledbetter
If you have access to freehand or illustrator.. it's not hard to put a photo in, trace it.. set your units to inches and scale it up to a known measurement.. Nut to Bridge for instance i guess is 25.5 So scale it up to that and you can print out a lifesize drawing.. Would be an easy way to input both and morpht he shape and print out a nice drawing. What I do is a tile print on my inkjet.. then using spray moutn, i spray the tiles to a sheet of MDF, bandsaw right through the paper, spindle sand to true it up and i have a template. whitey
thats a pretty neat idea,or print a picture of one on A4 paer, cut round it so i have a tiny template, put it on a projector, then project it onto a piece of A3 paper on the wall then trace,or stael one...
