conan4480
I am going to start a left handed strat project for my wife. When I install the pickups do just turn them around and rout the body accordingly or is there actual left handed pickups? Conan
guitman32
For single coils, there is no diffence. For hunbuckers, there isnt on either, unless you have a coil splitting config. If that is the case, then you might want to take that into account. Other than that, just rout the body as you would normally...
conan4480
So the post stagering doesn't make a difference?
crafty
No, you're just flipping the pickup around on its axis, not rotating the pickup clockwise.
Saber
If you want to use a pickup with staggered poles and don't want to flip it around, some companies such as DiMarzio will provide left-handed staggered pickups on special order for no extra charge. crafty
Um, why? All you have to do is make the routes for the baseplates the opposite way for a left-handed body.
Saber
That depends on how you want it to look, especially if there is no scratchplate.
