Rebuild

I have a strat copy guitar which i have been re-building with a new neck and everything, but i am going to replace my neck pickup with a humbucker, how big do i have to route out of my body, it is currently 9cm by 2cm.

Does anybody have any idea of a website where i can oprder decals in australia, or will someone get me one and send it.

Ill post pics of my guitar when its done.

welcome to the forum deja..as far as the size for your route goes..and i'm not tryingt to be cute..it just needs to be big enough for the pup to fit. if you don't have and can't get a routing template then take the humbucker ring and trace the inside and outside onto your guitar. make a mark where the mounting holes on the ring are. remove the ring and place your pup on the guitar so that the holes on the wings match your two marks and trace around the rings. there's your pattern..just be sure that you don't route beyond the outside line.

what kind of decal are you looking for?

Ive Managed to make a custom decal at local printers and fitted that on. So i just get the humbucking ring and try to get it exactly fitted.
