Mickguard Posted June 30, 2005 Report Posted June 30, 2005 I like the look of those P90 dogears --but right now I have a soapbar version. Can I just replace the cover of the soapbar with a dogear cover, or are the pickups themselves different sizes? Quote
Mickguard Posted June 30, 2005 Author Report Posted June 30, 2005 No one knows the answer to this? Quote
jay5 Posted June 30, 2005 Report Posted June 30, 2005 You didnt give anyone much time brotha, I am almost positive its just the cover. The dogears are generally mounted straight to the body ie. LP Jr. From what I have seen, you cant switch the covers w/out having to do some fiddling to get them to mount right, ie foam and such. Quote
Pr3Va1L Posted June 30, 2005 Report Posted June 30, 2005 hmm, this is a good question... i think the only difference is a dogear has the screws on the size and a normal one has them in the middle of the pickup? Quote
Drak Posted June 30, 2005 Report Posted June 30, 2005 Nope. The pkps themselves, actually the bottom plate of the pkp itself, has 'lips' on it, or 'dogears' so the pkp will stay suspended on top of the instrument. If you tried to use a soapbar on a dogear setup, the pkp would simply fall thru the hole. Quote
