q83
I have a body that's set up for from what I understand, Floyd Rose screw posts, but the Floyd Rose I bought (a Schaller) only came with studs. Can anyone explain to me the difference? Can I simply redrill for the studs? I have these and not these. Sorry guys, this is my first floating bridge project, and I'm at a loss. I can't even find any directions on installation, but I have an RG770 hanging around I could look at.
Scott Rosenberger
You can redrill for the studs. I believe it's a 25/32" drill bit. Use a drill press and make sure the bit is centered in the original hole.
Myrk-
I think someone posted a diagram for the dimensions of a floyd rose, which you then use to get the positions of the pillars right. You then drill a hole as Scott said, then mallet them in I believe. I have the exact same floyd rose as the one you have, with the same pillars.
