Mr. Malmsteen Posted July 26, 2005 Report Posted July 26, 2005 Okay. I have a neck off of an Ibanez RG570 guitar, and a Kramer body. The neck is flat at the end >>>> ______ and the body's pocket is round __ ______l __) That should give you a general idea. Anyways... Is there any way to fill in the gap created, and is it safe for the neck to be mounted like that? Thanks Quote
Mr. Malmsteen Posted July 26, 2005 Author Report Posted July 26, 2005 "pics" didnt work, neck ends like this>>> l <<<< body is like this >>>> ) <<<< Quote
unclej Posted July 26, 2005 Report Posted July 26, 2005 can you insert the neck into the pocket the way it is and if so is it a good tight fit when it's placed so that the flat end of the neck touches the beginning of the curved part of the pocket. if so you won't be able to square off the neck pocket. the easiest thing is to make a pickguard with a square pocket that hides the gap...that is if the guitar has a pickguard. thegarehanman Posted July 26, 2005 Report Posted July 26, 2005 Well if your bridge is already mounted, than you're probably going to have trouble with scale lenght. That's a whole nother animal. Quote
