Hendrxapprentice
I was wiring a whie ago and i had bought a push pull volume pot, then all of the sudden a flame sparked from inside the pot. Now unless i have some pyrokinetic power i dont know about, id say tis is impossible. All i was doing was wiring the pot with a regular soldering iron that i use all the time. Do you think this pot its still able to be used????
crafty
Sounds like you overheated whatever you were soldering and the material inside the pot flashed. Not too unusual for a 1/4 watt pot if you're burning it up with a 30 watt iron. Or it could have been defective from the manufacturer. Either way, you're going to have to measure it with a VOM to verify it's still working or welded shut.
Jehle
Sounds like you let the smoke out. Electronics typically don't work when you let the smoke out of them.
