shage
Why the neck and mid Pickup(PU) sounds darker after changing the bridge PU? I have recently change the stock bridge PU on my Fender AM Deluxe Fat strat lock. The original one is Seymour Duncan OEM DH-1, and I changed it to a Dimarzio Fred (DP153F). After that, I found the neck and middle PU (Fender Noiseless PU) became darker in tone than before. I found no noticable hiss or noise after the soldering work. So I don't think the darkened tone is because of the soldering work. This is the first time for me to change PU. I just soldered the four wires of the new PU to where the four wires of the old one is. And I didn't apply any other modificiation to the capacitor etc. Could you please tell me how does this problem happen and how to resolve it? Thanks. Jehle
I wonder if they actually sound the same as they did before. You may notice that they sound very different from the new bridge pickup. Could that be the case?
