CudBucket Posted August 19, 2005 Report Posted August 19, 2005 The screws that came with my Dimarzios are for mounting rings. I'm direct mounting them into my project guitar. Can any tell me what size/type of screws I need for this? Thanks. Dave Quote
crafty Posted August 19, 2005 Report Posted August 19, 2005 Wood screws slightly smaller than the holes in the mounting tabs and short enough that they won't go through the back of the guitar. At least, that's what I would do... Quote
CudBucket Posted August 19, 2005 Author Report Posted August 19, 2005 I kinda of figured that's what I do if there wasn't a specific kind of screw to use. Thanks! Quote
Pekollio Posted August 19, 2005 Report Posted August 19, 2005 Dave, I thought I saw some specialty screws on Stew-Mac for direct mounting. Pekollio Quote
Scott Rosenberger Posted August 21, 2005 Report Posted August 21, 2005 I use the screws for mounting pickup rings to direct mount my pickups Quote
gun Posted August 21, 2005 Report Posted August 21, 2005 (edited) Do you drill a smallest hole than the mounting ring screw and force it into the wood? Cuz if you use a wood screw the lenght you need just to mount it, it's ok, but you can't use the PU anymore than another direct mount situation. That way you could be able to use it in the future also for mounting ring, that's a better way, sure!!! I say this cuz I can't find a screw that doesn't enlarge the hole in the PU al least where I live. Edited August 21, 2005 by gun Quote
