Hi, i was thinking of getting my les paul copy body and cutting the top off with a big fat bandsaw and then getting a piece of flamed maple and cut the f shaped holes out in it and sticking the flamed maple on, also making the top flat. I've had a browse inside thru the pickup holes and it looks like i would have to route out the body to make it semi acoustic.

Any Ideas??? Cheers Noddy :D

Asking the same question in multiple threads tends to make folks around here less likely to answer. It also cheeses off the mods.

Try that search link up there at the top right of the page. There's been at least one discussion about this topic in the last couple months.

The short answer: It's easier to build from scratch than to modify an existing guitar. If you really want a semi-acoustic LP, I suggest you build one, or buy one; not half of each.
