CudBucket
Hey guys. My next project is going to be a 24 fret bolt-neck explorer. I've got my body shaped and was thinking I'd like to bind it with ebony. Just the top side. I got the ebony wood binding from Stew Mac and and questioning whether I'll be able to bend it enough around the explorer's sharp corners. What do you all think? Impossible? Experience? Thanks and here's the body. Dave
fryovanni
I think I like wood binding. It is possible. Yes, I have bent Ebony in that tight of a radius. Depending on thickness it has to be done in several steps (warm it up, bend a bit, let it settle and repeat- bend only a little at a time so you don't over stress the wood). Watch out for sections with runnout (thats were it is most likely to snap. Peace, Rich Hey guys. My next project is going to be a 24 fret bolt-neck explorer.
