AlGeeEater
i have a power sander that is pretty decent and i was wondering if it would be better to use with nitro> my keyboard is acting weird so ">" that means period> lol>>> so anyway i was wondering if the power sander is safe to use> sure itll go faster but im afraid itll load up faster or somethin and ill scratch it up bad> thanks in advance louis ← Faster? How much faster could it go? Nitro is easy to sand out. Anways, this is from "another" forum: "I've power sanded lots of finihes (not McFaddens) and I agree that it's the only way to go. I usually use a P-C 1/4 sheet sander loaded with 220 grit tri-m-ite paper. I wouldn't recomend using the 120 grit though, when the finish shrinks the scratches might come back to haunt you; I've had it happen. With a VS random orbit sander I'd also probably dial the speed down a bit for fear of pulling the film, and clogging the paper too quickly." I guess you could do it if you are that impaitent, but if you sand with 400 between every coat the final sanding and polishing should'nt take very long. Ledzendrix1128
hahaha... yeah im just getting done with my last coat of nitro later today... i sanded yesterday with a 3M rubber block backing 600 grit sandpaper... but it had something sticking out of it... like a small particle of grain or.. maybe it was ripped... but it put a GIGANTIC scratch in the finish.. took my so long to sand it back down and I sanded through on the edge because of it... but i built up the coat today... what im getting at is i didnt sand in between coats... i only sanded once and it made the job a lot harder when i finally decided to sand. Next project Ill def sand at least between every 2 coats
