mailman Posted September 29, 2005 Report Posted September 29, 2005 How are you plotting the template so you can actually....well use it? Quote
chunkielad Posted September 29, 2005 Report Posted September 29, 2005 I have a vinyl cutter which can also plot to 610mm (2ft) wide. I know some people just print the design onto a normal printer which will tile the image (you have to stick them together to use it) I don't actually use cad, I use Corel Draw but the principle is the same. mailman Posted September 29, 2005 Author Report Posted September 29, 2005 well cad wont let you just print and tape the paper together so do i have to like....cuz the thing up into several viewports and print out each viewport individually? Quote
fryovanni Posted September 29, 2005 Report Posted September 29, 2005 If you don't have a large plotter you can take the file to a print house and have them print it out. If you print multiple layouts I suggest you add a line to each drawing that is a know length and double check to be sure your printer is not scaling a few percent (like 3-4%). A lot of printers will do that even if your layout is set to print 1:1. You will have a much better result if you have it printed on one sheet. Peace,Rich Quote
jer7440 Posted September 29, 2005 Report Posted September 29, 2005 In the states we have places like Office Max, Staples, and Kinkos. Alot of these places have big format printers that could print your dxf file. Call around, there may be something like this in your area. Quote

Southpa Posted September 29, 2005 Report Posted September 29, 2005 (edited) I used to email my dwg's to a buddy who worked at a marine engineering firm. I don't know about now because he changed jobs. But he had access to plotters and thats what counts. Edited September 29, 2005 by Southpa Quote
spyykko Posted September 30, 2005 Report Posted September 30, 2005 well cad wont let you just print and tape the paper together ← Some printer drivers have this feature. Personally I have used "Print Window" command to print the templates on two DIN A3 sheets. Quote
