krazyderek
yup, you'll just have a very bright sound and it will weight alot!
daveq
Yes, definitely. There are many types of Maple though. Which type are you talking about (hard/rock maple, soft maple,...)? I have read that maple gives a "brighter" sound and tends to stick out (nicely) on recordings. I guess it depends on what style of music you want to play but if it were me, I would be thrilled to have a solid maple body.

Roli
Rickenbackers are maple also, but if you rout some sound chambers, you can get fuller sound from maple.

westhemann
i believe most maple guitars are made of soft maple.it is lighter and less harsh sounding.but i am not an expert on maple guitars.you might just want to check into it.but judas priest used maple guitars if i am correct also
