rokeros Posted October 19, 2005 Report Posted October 19, 2005 Hey folks, thought I could do my time with something, did a little research and voila, I have made my first pedal. Following the TS-808. Overall the project costed me less than USD$10 so I am pretty satisfied. Here are some teaser pics right after finishing and textures. PS. Please comment Gd or Bd Ash HK Quote
Bytrix Posted October 19, 2005 Report Posted October 19, 2005 Looks very nice and sturdy, but how does it sound ? Quote
lovekraft Posted October 19, 2005 Report Posted October 19, 2005 It looks very nice - you got really close to that old Ibanez green, too! I just have one question: $10??!? I spend more than that on an enclosure and a footswitch! Of course, since it's for you, I guess it doesn't have to be built completely idiot-proof! What kind of switch did you use, and more important, are you happy with the sound you're getting? A most worthy and excellent first effort, IMHO!! Quote

As I said it is just a teaser. I will put some clips when i am done. The footswitch is a DPDT millenium switch, costed 1.9$US and the enclosure is exactly $1 USD. all the components such as Resistors and diodes only cost HKD 20cents. Now divide that by 8 to get it in USD price. The pots were around that price also. As you know I do live in Hong Kong so stuff is directly impoted from China. Ash HK Quote

lovekraft Posted October 20, 2005 Report Posted October 20, 2005 hey lk what do you say we go in on an order from our buddy in hong kong here. interested? Naw, Ansil, it's like Steve Daniels said, unless you're gonna get a thousand or so of those switches, by the time you get them stateside, they'll still cost us 6 bucks apiece! I probably won't go through 1000 switches between now and my funeral! Quote
ansil Posted October 20, 2005 Report Posted October 20, 2005 actually i found a way to get them here cheaper. and so far its working. i will let you know once i get the first batch. i have a friend over there who was sending me stuff. and at less than a dollar each.. and i am getting well over 25 switches per parcel.. they have a similar flat rate mailing package as well over there according to our friends. will keep you posted right now might be moving the land lord stealing the mail is getting old and we are trying to recoup the lost buisness and prts. ed Quote
