weeeddy Posted October 23, 2005 Report Posted October 23, 2005 I have been playing around with an Ibanez RG, now here is my problem, to get the action down to my desired height 2mm bass and 1.9mm treble, I have to shim the neck pocket, now I am only sticking a shim in the bridge side fo the pocket, this is leading to my perfect action but the string angle off the higher frets is too steep and is causing buzz, now would it be a better option to keep the origional neck angle, and shim the entire pocket?. Thanks Eddy Quote
weeeddy Posted October 26, 2005 Author Report Posted October 26, 2005 Well I did the entire neck pocket, thanks for the suggestions! Grin. Everything is now fine!. E Quote
bisonlespaul59 Posted October 26, 2005 Report Posted October 26, 2005 thats really low, i run 5/64 of an inch. But im all about tone and not speed. Whatever floats your boat. Quote
weeeddy Posted October 26, 2005 Author Report Posted October 26, 2005 It is for speed, I have a strat for tone! grin, not a fan of a low action, but I need it for something I'm working on. Thanks E Quote
