Stiffy Posted November 4, 2005 Report Posted November 4, 2005 On another project will laquer clear coat work over a previously well hardened poly clear coat? Quote
Southpa Posted November 4, 2005 Report Posted November 4, 2005 I wouldn't. Your best bet is to scuff and add more poly. Nitrocellulose lacquer is extremely reactive with other finish materials. here is some interesting reading. Quote
1576 Posted November 4, 2005 Report Posted November 4, 2005 Polyester or polyurethane?? If its polyester, then it will be inert so sanding with 320 paper will be sufficient to prep it ready for overcoating in cellulose, acrylic or PU. I wouldnt advise overcoating PU with anythign other than PU, as its much more flexible than polyester Quote

All I got is lacky so my friend is just going have to buy a can of poly. Quote
