Lord-of-the-strings Posted November 11, 2005 Report Posted November 11, 2005 How would I wire two single coils together to make a humbucker? P.S: I'm an extreme electronics n00b, so go easy on me Quote
thegarehanman Posted November 11, 2005 Report Posted November 11, 2005 (edited) You'd take two single coils with opposite polarities and oppositve winding directions(hence "reversewound, reverse polarity" pickups) and wire them in series. A strat's middle pickups is normally reversewound reverse polarity(in relation to the neck and bridge single coils, that is). Series means that the lead of the first pickup goes to your output, the ground of the first pickup goes to the second pickup's lead, and the ground of the second pickup actually gets grounded. I hope I explained that clearly. Edited November 11, 2005 by thegarehanman Quote
